About this Event

Clean out your closet and refresh your wardrobe at South Austin's finest and most fun clothing swap.

For every item you bring, you will receive one ticket to swap for another item at the event, up to a maximum of 5 tickets per person.

Don't have anything to donate or worried you will find more than items then you have tickets? Not a problem! Items at the swap will also be available for sale for $3 each.

Complimentary rosé provided by the Austin Winery while supplies last. Additional beverage sponsors TBA.

All bodies and gender identities welcome!

Event Rules:

All items brought should be clean and in good condition. Please do not bring anything that is stained, torn, or unwearable. A good rule of thumb is only to bring items you would feel comfortable giving to a friend. At check-in, we will quickly look through the items you brought to make sure they meet our quality standards.

We will accept: adult clothing in all sizes, shoes, coats, and handbags.

We will NOT accept: torn and bad condition clothing, children's clothing, undergarments, socks, jewelry, accessories, house goods, toys, bedding, pillows, and anything else non-clothing related.

Any items that are left over at the end of the event will be donated.

Tips:

Wear close-fitting clothing to the event to facilitate trying on items before you commit. A tank top and leggings or shorts works well. We will have a few full-length mirrors on site to help you decide.

Don't forget your reusable bag!

A huge thank you to our host, Madabolic Austin. If you're in the market for a new gym, definitely check them out. They offer strength and conditioning style interval training classes in a super fun, community-focused environment.

Our why:

Fashion has a serious waste and human rights problem. According to the EPA, more than 14 million tons of textiles were landfilled or burned in the U.S. in 2018, and globally, clothing is responsible for somewhere between 3 and 10% of greenhouse gas emissions. The conditions in garment factories, both overseas and here in the U.S., are notoriously horrendous, with workers (most of whom are female) making an unlivable wage and being exposed to toxic chemicals and other inhumane conditions. Swapping clothes instead of buying new allows us to fulfill our desire for fresh fashion items, without purchasing new and contributing to this harmful industry.
