About this Event
Join us for an early evening sneak peek at the archives relating to South Asian Heritage at the LSE Library Gallery!
South Asian Heritage Month 2024 is all about celebrating the stories that make up our diverse and vibrant community and at LSE Library, our archives reflect those varied narratives.
On display will be material from the archives and special collections including books from the Myra Sadd Brown Memorial Library, Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar's student files, the papers of Peter Shore relating to independence in Bangladesh, Indian women in the suffrage movement, and material relating to Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and much more!
Come and get up close to unique and important items held within the collections here at LSE.
You can also learn more from our friendly team of curators and archivists who will be on hand to answer any questions and talk more about using archives and special collections in your teaching, research or for personal interest.
Book a place to register your interest and receive reminders about the day or just drop in and stay as long as you like!
C over image: A rare photograph discovered in the Women’s Library archives at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) has highlighted the significant, but often unrecognised, role undertaken by Indian women in the suffrage movement.
