On April 22nd, join us at the John Daniel Teply Gallery for an afternoon of art, games, and storytelling celebrating world black leaders.
About this Event

Come prepared with your acting, storytelling, dance and musical chops! Be a part of a raucous art event exploring the lives of 16 amazing black world leaders. A cornucopia of creativity with new friends and inspired artists!

The program will be based on the above collaborative painting done by Frans Lucky Phooko of South Africa and other artists, including Afreakano (Ola Onipede), John Daniel Teply and Garett Bradley. Afreakano is doing a special rendition relating black leaders with traditional Ghanian symbols.

A significant part of the mural project is in the collaboration Afreakano has included the Adinkra symbols with the great leaders. An Adinkra symbol is a traditional Ghanian symbol representing a quality of action, such as Change.

Free entry for visual artists, performance artists, writers, and poets!

More of this at the event! Come to the party!
