South Africa to Palestine: A Bristol Apartheid-Free Zone day school
On Saturday September 27th, we'll be joining with local community groups for a day of reflecting on the past, and picking up the tools of resistance from the anti-apartheid movement rooted in St Paul’s in the 1980s. The St Paul's Apartheid Free Zone formed a template for a national movement that helped contribute to the downfall of South African Apartheid, and now it’s inspiring our urgent campaign for Palestinian liberation.
Come and hear how our communities organised around practical and achievable principles to form an effective boycott; and how you can play your part in once again making our neighbourhoods Apartheid-free.
There will be plenty of space for questions and conversation, and no prior knowledge is expected. A highlight of the day will be a Palestinian lunch, cooked and shared by Bristol’s Palestinian community. We will also be providing volunteer/parent run childcare for the day.
