Sourdough Class with Kim's Cooking Creations at Old World Olive Co.

Cost: $60 per person
Dive into the art and science of sourdough breadmaking using our authentic San Francisco starter. In this hands‑on workshop, each student will build, shape, and take home a personal loaf to bake at home. You’ll learn how to maintain your starter, understand dough hydration and fermentation, and leave with everything you need to continue your sourdough journey long after class ends.
WHAT TO BRING:
2 X 16.9 oz bottles of water (room temperature, unchlorinated if possible)
1 Medium size plastic mixing bowl
750g Bread Flour
18 g salt or kosher salt
Digital Kitchen Scale (must measure in grams)
Wooden or plastic spoon
Pen and Paper

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
Starter Care: How to revive, maintain, and store your San Francisco starter
Dough Making: The autolyse process, mixing, and proper gluten development
Fermentation: Bulk rise versus proofing, temperature control and timing
Shaping & Scoring: Techniques for building oven spring and beautiful loaf designs
Baking at home: Temperature, steam creation, and troubleshooting your first home bake
Please arrive 30 minutes early to have time to roam the store and include your email during checkout and bring all items listed in the "What to Bring" section, as they are necessary to participate in the class.
