Join us for our most popular class at the bakehouse: An introduction to sourdough bread baking. Learn all about baking with a starter culture in a class that will give you the basics to continue your sourdough adventure at home.
First we discuss the fundamentals of sourdough alchemy in bread making. Then you will be making your own bread culture. Finally, learn all about proper mixing, shaping and baking a simple, yet delicous sourdough bread.
Together we will mix a bread dough by hand so you can try your new-learned skills. A sensory bread tasting with a sourdough bread we baked in the wood fired oven will conclude our "sourdough day".
Learn about the magic of wild yeasts and leave with new skills that will enable you to continue your sourdough adventure at home. Every participant will receive a starter culture to take home.
The class will end with a sensory tasting of some of the things we talked about and made in class, accompanied by local foods and condiments to create optimal food pairings.
