FAQ
What to bring?
You will be asked to contribute a dish, soup, side, utensils, napkins etc. Your host will reach out to the group to plan the menu. If there is a dish you're longing to share just let the host know, otherwise you will be assigned a contribution.
What about food allergies or sensitivities?
Just let your host know what your allergies or sensitivities are. Most gatherings have offerings for the basics, veg/vegan, gluten free.
What's the vibe?
We are a come as you are group. Haven't brushed your hair in days due to depression? We got you. Wanna wear PJs for the foreseeable future? Well you'll be in good company. Wanna wear a gown? We will all be impressed (but you might spill soup on it..)
Most importantly come with an open mind and be ready to giggle.
WHY SOUP?
Great question! As our little group was formed during the winter months, the inherent coziness of Soup was the *spark* that initially gathered us around a table! Soup may have started the party, but our desire for true connection keeps it kicking!
SOUP GROUP IS…
A women-only group comprised (mostly) of fabulous #squadbettie members who dig gathering IRL, intentionally seeking authentic connection and friendship.
WHY WE GATHER?
We gather because it’s harder now than ever before, to truly connect in this virtual world we all live in. We gather because we believe there’s magic when we take up physical space together and have shared experiences. We gather because we’re hungry for greater depth and vulnerability.
WHAT WE VALUE:
Authenticity - We show up as our authentic selves and invite you to come EXACTLY as you are. Bed hair don’t care. Zero judgement.
Intentionality - In the spirit of creating a space for thoughtful connection, we are intentional about our group size. This includes 15 guests at each event so everyone has a chance to be heard and seen.
Curiosity - We are curious minds / hearts and while small talk can be fun, we desire to dive deeper. We love asking questions and really caring about the answers.
Vulnerability – We view vulnerability as a “Souperpower” (yep, I like Soup metaphors!) and we are intentional in carving out a safe space for it to thrive.
Celebration - We actively look for ways to celebrate and support one another!
Connection – We meet monthly, but wholeheartedly encourage connection outside this gathering! Be brave - swap numbers, have adventures together out in the world! Always know that shared group invites are welcome and encouraged in this space!
Consent – While we are a collective of women, we are intentional in practicing consent. We are mindful and don’t assume that everyone is “hug / touch friendly”. We honor and celebrate that everyone is wired differently when it comes to physical touch. We respect one another’s boundaries by practicing this.
