“We know now that in the early years of the 19th century, this world was being watched closely by intelligences greater than man’s and yet as mortal as his own” (Wells 1897). Join museum associate David Ziegler as he leads a study in the works and worlds of three Victorian-era authors who designed their interplanetary intelligences with Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution in mind. The works to be studied include: Les Xipèhuz, War of the Worlds, and Edison’s Conquest of Mars. Pre-registration is required, available online at qrco.de/bfTNvP or call 330-455-7043.
