Inclusive Improvisation : New Ways of Communicating with Sound
The sigh of the wind, pedestrian crossing beep, passersby talking, music blaring from a passing car, a distant barking, the crunch of ice beneath your feet - we are constantly surrounded by sounds harmonising, changing and colliding. Some of these we might notice, but many of these we automatically tune out. But what happens if we try to listen equally to every sound entering our ears or try to hear the world as unfiltered as a microphone does? Through exploring the practice of tuning in, we can unlock new ways of communicating to others with sound . Ceylan will lead a playful session of sonic experiments focusing on techniques from free improvisation to maximise the inclusion of everyone.
