Journey to the 1940s with MusicForAmerica! Feel the Boogie-Woogie beat that comforted, inspired, and united a nation at war!
About this Event

In the 1940s, patriotic songs accompanied troops, comforted those left at home, and exorcised the specter of war to the rhythm of Boogie-Woogie. MusicForAmerica musicians take us back to a time when the nation looked to music to guide, inspire, and motivate civilians and soldiers. Join us at The Fred and Ken Performing Arts Stage. Led by trumpeter/flugelhornist Pete Francis and bassist/composer Rafael Valencia, and featuring vocal artist Lourdes Valentin, the band delivers its blend of Afro-Cuban and Brazilian music, contemporary Jazz, and Soul.
