The Michigan Music Alliance is pleased to announce Sounds Like Michigan, a live music fundraiser to mark the official relaunch of the statewide music nonprofit and the educational programming it provides to Michigan musicians.Sounds Like Michigan will take place Saturday, November 23 at the historic Wealthy Theatre in Grand Rapids and in partnership with Local Spins, WYCE (88.1-FM), and Triumph Music Academy.
Sponsored by Our Family and Founders Brewing Co., the inaugural event will include an evening of live performances, limited-edition merchandise, a silent auction, a 50/50 raffle, networking, and more.
Detroit-Ypsilanti folk-rock trio Frontier Ruckus will headline the event while additional acts will be announced soon via Opnr.
“We’ve spent the last year working behind the scenes to set the organization up for long-term success,” said Nicholas James Thomasma, interim executive director of the Michigan Music Alliance. “Now, it’s time to celebrate. Sounds Like Michigan is a celebration of Michigan music.”
All Sounds Like Music ticket and event proceeds will support the Michigan Music Alliance’s educational programming and artist performances. A VIP package is available and includes premium seating, merch, and a private performance from Frontier Ruckus.
Tickets for Sounds Like Michigan are now available via the Grand Rapids Community Media Center website. VIP tickets are $100 and general admission tickets are $35.
