Mastering intricate time signatures, recreating exact tones, using identical instruments and
equipment Soundgarden used in their heyday, Black Daze is a musical force to be reckoned
with. They capture the stage presence, the look, feel, and attitude of classic Soundgarden, which is not an easy task!
What began as a side project to stay focused and productive during the COVID-19 pandemic
turned into Black Daze - The Ultimate Soundgarden Tribute. Nikki Lane Taylor (drums, vocals)
and Chaz Leon (vocals, guitar) decided to form a band that would challenge them musically and
keep them busy during the lockdowns. Noticing a resemblance between Chaz and Chris
Cornell, Nikki suggested a Soundgarden Tribute. After a bit of laughter and knowing this would
be an extremely difficult task, they recruited two outstanding, veteran players who were also up
to the challenge: Greg Coates (bass, vocals) and Dennis D'Angelo (guitar, vocals). Shortly into
their first jam, the excitement and musical chemistry between the artists was immediate and undeniable. The rest is history…
