Katie and James' musical journey began 15 years ago at an open mic in Wrexham, where they instantly connected over their shared love
for music (and the TV series ‘The Office’!). Fast forward 7 years, and
they tied the knot, solidifying their bond both personally and musically.
However, it wasn't until just over three years ago, during the
challenging times of lockdown, that they truly delved into collaborative songwriting. This rekindling of their shared passion sparked the birth of Igloo Hearts, a musical project that fuses their distinct musical backgrounds into a harmonious blend.
At the core of Igloo Hearts' sound are classical piano, fingerpicking
guitar, and rich close harmonies, creating a unique sonic tapestry that resonates with audiences. Their discography includes 10 studio
produced singles, going back to their first 2020 release "Without You", up to their latest 2024 release, "Watering Can," which reflects their
ability to craft emotionally resonant narratives through music.
Despite their relatively short time as Igloo Hearts, they've already
made waves in the music scene, performing at prestigious venues
such as the Liverpool Philharmonic and Llangollen International
Eisteddfod. They have also recently worked collaboratively with
Wrexham Choir and George ‘Guitar’ Borowski in a celebration of
peace for World Peace Day. For this special concert they wrote and
performed a piece of music (‘Love’s Where We Begin’), with lyrical
input from the choir members, at St Giles Church, Wrexham (one of
the Seven Wonders Of Wales).
Their live shows are an immersive experience, where audiences are
guaranteed to feel a range of emotions, including a goosebump or
two! With their debut album on the horizon, set for release in the
Autumn, Igloo Hearts are poised to further enchant listeners with
their heartfelt melodies and soul-stirring performances.
