I am a Sound Therapist and Yoga teacher.
Why is it called a Therapeutic Sound Bath?
A therapeutic Sound Bath intentionally uses sound from instruments such as: Tibetan bowls, Crystal bowls, Drum sand other instruments. In addition, mantras, vocal toning and singing to achieve a sense of restorative rest in the mind and body.
The ultimate aim is to calm the active brain state and relax into a more pleasant state of consciousness and thus boost the body's natural healing abilities.
Do I need to lie down?
Usually experienced whilst lying on a Yoga mat with pillows and a blanket. An eye mask is optional. Alternatively you can sit on the mat or use a chair. There is no effort required. There is some time devoted to breath work intention setting and a guided meditation and then you will be taken on a sound journey.
May be helpful with:
A reduction in stress and anxiety improved sleep a sense of stillness reduced pain and fatigue.
What should you bring with you?
A mat blanket pillow and an eye mask if you prefer.
The following contraindications apply:
Sound Induced epilepsy the first trimester of pregnancy the 2nd and 3rd trimester (please consult your healthcare provider) Those with significant mental health conditions.
Those with the following should also consult with their GP and inform myself :
Pacemakers artificial heart valves and stents shunts and deep brain stimulation devices.
