Sound Workshop Part II - Creating Sounddesign

„Everything you hear on a film is a lie.“ Das erklären uns die Toningenieure und Tonproduzenten Stephan Busch und Lothar Weise in diesem zweiteiligen Workshop. Neben den wichtigen Dialogen sind natürliche Geräusche oft langweilig und unoriginell und die Aufnahmen von Umgebungsgeräuschen und Action-Sounds am Filmset erfüllen selten die Erwartungen. Doch zum Glück gibt es die sog. „sound effect artists“ wie z.B. Jack Donovan Foley. Star Wars-Produzent George Lucas hat einmal gesagt: „Der Ton macht 50% des ganzen Films aus“. In diesen Workshops entführen uns Stephan Busch und Lothar Weise in die Welt der real klingenden und doch unwirklichen Geräusche und stellen uns einen der gefährlichsten Sounds der Welt vor.

Im zweiten Teil des Workshops („CREATING SOUNDDESIGN“) wird live im Tonstudio für eine 120sec-Filmsequenz das sounddesign erstellt.

Beide Workshops können unabhängig voneinander besucht und gebucht werden.

„Everything you hear on a film is a lie.“ This is what the sound engineers and sound producers Stephan Busch and Lothar Weise explain to us in this two-part workshop. In addition to the important dialogues, natural noises are often boring and unoriginal and the recordings of ambient noises and action sounds on film sets rarely meet expectations. But fortunately there are so-called “sound effects artists” such as Jack Donovan Foley. Star Wars producer George Lucas once said, “The sound is 50% of the whole movie.” In these workshops, Stephan Busch and Lothar Weise take us into the world of real-sounding yet unreal noises and introduce us to one of the most dangerous sounds in the world.

The first part of the workshop („THE LECTURE“) consists of a lecture with countless and astonishing examples from the film world. In the second part of the Workshop („CREATING SOUNDDESIGN“) we will create the sound design for a 120sec film sequence live in a recording studio.

Both workshops can be attended and booked independently.
