Sound of Being Journey - An evening of Sound, Breathwork & Meditation. Join Matty Rainbow, Co-founder of Sound Healing Australia, and step into a deeply healing space of meditative sonic vibrations.
About this Event

Welcome to the Sound of Being™ Journey - your invitation into deep healing, restoration, bliss and expanded consciousness. You will be supported in relaxing your body and mind, while replenishing all parts of yourself.

This 90 minute experience is an incredibly powerful combination Sound Healing, breathwork, ritual, mantra, energy alignments, intention setting and meditation that is deeply rooted in Vedic and Shamanic traditions. Transcending the physical sound, you will be transported to a depth of your consciousness that both revitalises and nourishes your overall well-being. You’ll be bathed in high frequency Crystal and Himalayan Singing Bowls, Native American Flutes, Medicine Drums, Crystal Harps, Monolina, Paiste Gongs, an array of Chimes, n’Goni, Hand Pan, Harmonium, Rattles, Rainsticks and more.

This multi-dynamic experience is an opportunity for everyone - regardless of their prior experience with Meditation or Sound Healing - to experience freedom from thought, mind-chatter, stress and expectation. With a focus on implementing mindfulness, this journey will support you with down-regulation of the nervous system and re-defining homeostasis physically, mentally, emotionally and energetically.

Matty brings together a wealth of experience in facilitating Sound Healing journeys and is passionate about sharing Sound Healing both from a practical science based foundation, whilst also bridging the power of the energetic realms of consciousness. As a therapist of various therapeutic modalities, Matty understands working various body systems to clear, enliven and enhance optimal states of being. Sound paired with breathwork and ritual is yet another subtle, and incredibly powerful vibrational tool to be able to explore these parts of ourselves and come back to our authentic truth.

What is Sound Healing?

Sound Healing is a powerful therapy that is ancient in many traditional and now has incredible research in the field of vibrational medicine. Particular sounds you hear is called resonance, the frequency at which an object naturally vibrates. Using various tools, including the voice, Sound Healing can guide participants into entrainment and a deep theta brainwave meditative state. In this space combined with intention, healing can occur. Sound Healing is effective in not only achieving a state of relaxation, but it also has a way of moving through blockages in the body.

Sound Healing has been known to help treat such conditions as but not limited to:

• Stress

• Anxiety

• High blood pressure

• Depression

• Sleep disorders

• Pain

• Autism

The subtle body holds imbalances and traumas that can eventually manifest in our physical bodies, which is why it's important to look at healing and balance not only from a physical perspective, but as a complete holistic outlook that includes mind, body and spirit.

Go to www.soundhealingaustralia.com to learn more about what they offer. They are very passionate about educating with Sound Healing and offer beginners workshops and full facilitator trainings in this Sound of Being integrative modality.

About your facilitator - Matty Rainbow

Matty Rainbow is Meditation Teacher, Sound Healer, Kinesiologist, Reiki practitioner and Massage Therapist who has been working with sound as a healing tool for his meditation practice and with clients for many years. Together with his partner, Seriya, they foundered “Sound Healing Australia”. This is a vision they birthed after many years of offering Sound Healings to thousands of participants across the globe. Each time they facilitate Sound Healing Meditations at festivals, yoga studios, corporate events and business functions, Seriya and Matty witness the powerful effects of sound in supporting participants to access a deep relaxation and stillness of mind. Sound Therapy guides participants into brainwave entrainment of a profound, theta, meditative state. It helps us transition through blockages of our body, emotions and mind and has been known to aid in treating stress, anxiety, high blood pressure, depression, sleep disorders, pain and trauma.

Seriya and Matty are passionate about how Sound Healing can help shift the busy-ness, distraction and stress that seemingly overwhelms our current culture. This inspired them to create beginners workshops and facilitator trainings in Sound of Being™ to support this modality in becoming more accessible in our everyday world. Sound of Being™ weaves sound therapy, breathwork, energy medicine and meditation. Through embodied education and their sound healing instrument shop, they often travel nationally for their events and trainings. However, most of their offerings are based from their healing clinic in the Byron Shire where they live with their two young daughters.

Testimonials:

“Nothing can quite explain what it feels like 'hearing' and 'feeling' vibration and energy like sound healing. Nothing describes the intensity but beauty of the noise and journey you feel throughout the Sound of Being. It's a journey, and from the start to end I feel totally mesmerised and a deep sense of peace.” Amelia Warren

"Never before have a experienced such restfulness and stillness. Everything from the moment I arrived, until I left was held and orchestrated in such a way that I felt welcomed and safe. Matty's presence is warm, nurturing and loving. Having the space held by a MAN was very healing for me and at all times I felt I could completely trust him." Julia S.

"This was my first ever experience of Sound Healing. I have tried a lot of different modalities and therapies to let go of the grief I have held after losing my husband recently and nothing has brought me the peace internally I feel right now. It was like for the first time since his passing, I no longer blame myself. I don't know how this happened, but I am so grateful for this experience. Thank you." Sarah T.

Things to note:

Centre of You has plenty of bolsters, blankets, and cushions for you to get cosy with. We recommend wearing comfortable, loose clothes to enable deep breathing and sitting/laying upon the floor with ease. A journal and an eye mask is recommended as are any familiar personal items that will aid you in feeling grounded (crystal, teddy, scarf, etc).

Preparation: Please only eat a light meal before the journey and bring a water bottle.

Arrival: Endeavour to arrive between 6:15pm - 6:30pm. To preserve the experience for all involved, doors will close at 6:45pm. Truly, it breaks our heart to have to turn latecomers away yet the disruption to the whole group experience by virtue of lateness does require management. We ask that you find understanding and consideration for the timebound nature of the container and make every effort to arrive on time.

Driving: Know Centre of You is on Chapel St and ample time to find a car spot is best to be factored into your plans. Park direct on Chapel St (spots unmetered after 5pm) or in Anchor Place, the open-air parking lot in the side street that runs opposite Centre of You (unmetered after 4pm).

Public transport - tram: Both the number 6 tram & 78 tram stop on the corner of High St/Chapel St. This is stop 31 on the number 6 tram (Moreland/Glen Iris) & stop 45 on the number 78 tram (North Richmond/Balaclava).

Public transport - train: Both Prahran & Windsor stations along the Sandringham Line will get you walking distance to Centre of You.

Finding Centre of You: Centre of You is nestled within the arcade that Chapel St Bazaar is in (217 Chapel St). It is up a flight of stairs with a wide landing at the half-way-point. Unfortunately, this current version of Centre of You does not have a wheelchair-accessible lift. If you could use support in getting up the stairs or would like to discuss ways to make your experience at Centre of You more comfortable, please reach out via [email protected] or via DM over on Centre of You Instagram.

Accessibility: At COY we aim to ensure our community and events are inclusive and accessible while upholding the needs and responsibilities of our business and partnering facilitators. Should you be in a time of financial challenge and unable to pay the full ticket price comfortably, please be in contact via [email protected]. Together we will find a way.

Ticketing T&Cs: We get it, life happens, therefore we will gladly refund you up until 24hrs before the event start time. After that, we have a strict no refund/no transfer to future events policy. If you are no longer able to attend and wish to pay forward your ticket to someone within the community, be in touch via [email protected] or via DM over on Centre of You Instagram.
