About this Event
Founding Director and Senior Practitioner of Soundwise Health, Lana Ryder brings twenty-five years experience devoted to practicing, studying and teaching sound, voice and music as foundational to well-being, inner peace and grace. The first half hour of this evening's meditation will focus on some of the basics of psychoacoustics and how sound affects us, touching on research done in the fields of psychoneuroimmunology and meditation. Lana has worked with over a thousand individual private and group sound sessions in addition to continued studies since 1999 in the field of sound healing with some of the most well-known, respected international teachers.
A soothing, gentle sound immersion follows the talk where we can settle in to an inward journey of peace, relaxation, healing or whatever you choose it to be. For such a time as this, may we each commit to maintaining our own inner peace, grace and balance. Specific instruments are chosen to enhance your experience, played by experienced and trained sound practitioners collaborating under the guidance of Lana. We all share a background as musicians of varying experience and this adds to the flow, harmony and beauty of our instruments and voices. Assistant Director at Soundwise Health, Ken Ebert, and long-time associate and professional musician Julie Moffitt will be adding their soundful, heart-centered insights. Both maintain their own sound healing practices apart from Soundwise events as well. Both are associate instructors at Soundwise School of Harmonic Therapy. And we may have another surprise sound facilitator show up to collaborate with us!
Afterwards, you are invited to stay for the afterglow experience, enjoying commUNITY, having a cup of tea or a light snack to ground you before driving home.
If you choose to lie down we have yoga mats, cushions and blankets available. There are several seats available for those who are more comfortable sitting. Free eye masks are available. If you prefer, you may bring your own items.
Meditations are limited to the first 14 registered participants so there is comfortable personal space between everyone and so that practitioners can move freely around the room with a few instruments. But please understand we will not overwhelm your nervous system with too many instruments or sounds that are played too loud, too long or startling. We are all trauma-informed practitioners as well.
Please arrive ahead of the start time so you can settle in and be ready to go at 6:30. The main outside entrance into the building is locked at 6:25. No one can be admitted after that time. Plenty of free parking in the large lot right across from the front of the Liberty Place building. We are on the second floor- you may take stairs or elevator. 313 W. Liberty St., Suite 263, in the Liberty Place building, Lancaster.
As a give-back to the community and our many supporters, and in support of the principle of Sacred Economics, this month's event is by donation. A small donation is sufficient. Pay what you can. If that is a financial hardship for you, please reach out to register privately. [email protected]
