Peace:
Peace can be simply defined as the absence of war, yet if we dive a bit deeper, and look with-in it finds a much wider meaning:
- A state of mental or spiritual calm, free from anxiety, stress, or inner turmoil.
- The ability to remain calm and composed even in the face of external chaos or discord.
- A feeling of contentment and being at ease with oneself.
This also raises other questions, like in the ladder, what is violence? How does that look like?
This Thursday, we will dive into these questions, listen to our verbal and non-verbal answers, and see if we can find some peace with a stacked roster of breathtaking artists singing together in improvised harmonies…
About the artists:
✨ Nachum (PLVNK / Automatic Toys) 🎤
Lead singer of PLVNK and Automatic Toys, Nachum brings cinematic energy, alt-rock vocals, and undeniable presence. This is his third fully improvised appearance with The Residency - and with this trio, you can expect the unexpected.
✨ Archana 🎤
Indo-American singer-producer blending 20 years of Carnatic training with early-2000s R&B/pop sparkle. Her music explores queer desire with fearless vocal agility and lush, beat-driven arrangements built for heat and heart.
✨ Anilee List 🎤
Anilee List is a unique and well-rounded vocal storyteller, avid creator, and passionate collaborator. A powerhouse voice with a tender heart, Anilee's artistry explores the complexity of the human experience and how the journey back to self can be the ultimate connector.
✨ Myrrh 🎤
A classically trained vocalist, songwriter, and producer, Myrrh brings a voice that’s both precise and deeply felt - built for intimacy and lift. Based in Los Angeles, she moves with a DJ’s sense of momentum and an artist’s instinct for emotional truth.
✨ ITAI 🎷🎹
Saxophonist and live-electronic artist; founder of The Residency. Blending Middle Eastern roots, jazz improvisation, and groove-forward electronics, he guides face-to-face, one-night-only collaborations into real-time Sound Connections.

***If you want to add an instrument please coordinate in advance and get the OK
*** All Sets are being filmed and recorded!
🤫 Let’s keep deep conversations off the dancing areas... It’s not meant to be a “no talking” environment and most people are trying to connect with the music in a non-verbal way. A great place for deeper conversations is the Tea Lounge (:
The Tea Lounge 🫖
As The Tea Lounge becomes an inseparable part of The Residency's cozy season.
With a special "tea guest" this time around!!!
Tea Lounge opens at 8pm, please join us for a cup of tea and a hang...
***As some of you might know, our regular server and fam' Marqese, is in the hospital, recovering from spine surgery. We believe that they have been poorly mistreated, and we have put together support efforts on multiple levels. If you have it in you to contribute, or share, anything helps! and THANK YOU!

The Story of The Residency - Sound Connections:
From ITAI: "This new season of The Residency is about intimacy and presence. Most weeks, we’ll feature one very special guest artist, sitting across from me as we create the soundtrack for the night from scratch.
A concept I like calling "Swanning": Like two swans facing each other in a moment of deep connection, this allows us to share and respond, creating something raw, alive, and unrepeatable. In this format, the audience surrounds the face-to-face artists which forms a circle that makes everyone part of the experience. Step into the circle (:
The Zula Den:
The Zula Den is a subsidiary of the non-profit Zula Project which is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt charitable organization.
The Zula Den was created to hold space for our facilitators and their guests, our artists and their music, our teachers and their students…
Founded by husband & wife duo Eldad Alfi (@eldadalfi) and Chris Santillan (@chriss2385)
