Concrete Hustle presents… “Sound Clash”
HIP HOP BATTLE FESTIVAL

April 20th and April 21st
An all ages battle festival and two day celebration of hip hop culture! Presenting battles in 6 different elements (Breaking, Dj’ing, rap performance, beatbox, graffiti and all styles dance) for $1000 prize in each category. The events also going to be filled with Dj’s, giveaways and prizes, pop up shops, special guest performances and some local legends as our judges. It takes place in Vancouver at the Boogaloo Dance Academy and is bound to be one of the greatest fusions of hip hop culture the city has ever seen. Come join the vibe and see who will be crowned the new champions of the elements ?

About the Battles!
“Rap Performance”
The rap performance battle is open to both solo acts or groups. It’s being judged on performance, delivery, musicality and crowd reaction. Each of the 24 acts we select will perform a song (3:30 minutes or less) and the top 16 performances will advance to the finals on day two. In the finals each of the 16 acts selected will perform a song (3:30 minutes or less) and the top the 3 will be chosen for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes.
Prizes: $1000 cash + trophy, prize and gift bags
“Beatbox”
The beatbox battle is a solo competition. Each of the 24 competitors selected will get a 90 second round each and the top 16 will be selected for the finals on day two. In the finals those 16 competitors will be paired up and go head to head until there’s a final winner. All rounds the entire competition will be 90 seconds and prizes will be given out to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place contestants.
Prizes: $1000 cash + trophy, prize and gift bags
“Dj”
The Dj competition is going to be a head to head turntablism battle. Each of the 24 competitors will get a 2 minute round and the top 16 Dj’s will be selected for the finals on day two. In the finals the 16 finalists will get a showcase round of 2 minutes and the top 4 Dj’s will be selected for the head to head rounds. In the semifinals and finals each Dj will get one round of 90 seconds each. Prizes will be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place contestants

“Graffiti”
The graffiti event is going to be a graffiti canvas battle. All participants signed up will get to bring in a graffiti canvas which will be put up at the event and judged over the two days. At the awards ceremony on day two our graffiti judge “Dedos” will announce the winner. Prizes will be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place contestants

“Breakdance”
The breakdance battle is a head to head battle open to both Bboys and
Bgirls. The 24 dancers selected will all do a showcase round on day 1 and the top 16 dancers will advance to the finals on day 2. All of the breakdance battles are 2 rounds each and the top 16 dancers will battle it out on day two until one person is crowned the champ.
Prizes: $1000 cash + trophy, prize and gift bags
“All Style dance”
The All Style dance format combines lots of different styles (jazz, hip hop, popping, contemporary etc) into one smooth fusion of movement. The top 16 dancers will be selected and paired up to battle on day one and the top 8 winners will advance to the finals on day two. All of the all style battles are 2 rounds each and the top 8 dancers will battle it out on day two until one person is crowned the champ.
