About this Event
What time to arrive?
Enter through the side gate (just off Barker Butts) on Banks Road and not the main wooden double doors round the front of the church. Please arrive NO EARLIER than 6.30pm and NO LATER THAN 6.45PM so you get comfortable and be ready for the sound bath to promtly start at 7pm. Appologies to latecomers but the door will be locked come at 6.55pm so we are not disturbed. Please give yourself time and account for any traffic delays on your journey. Be considerate to the church's neighbours when parking as there is no car park so will have to find a space on the surrounding roads.
What do I need to bring?
Bring along a mat and pillow to lie on and a blanket to snuggled up in. You may wish to bring an eye mask if you have one or even arrive in your pajamas. It you find lying on the floor difficult or you would prefer to you can sit on a chair provided.
What will happen at the sound bath?
No prior experience is necessary to attend a sound bath just come along, lie or sit comfortably and let yourself be carried away by the harmonic melodies created by singing bowls, gongs and other percussion instruments. Wash away any stress or tension, fully relax and allow yourself to rebalance and restore.
The soudbath will last about an hour to which you will then be given time to ground yourself with the choice of a hot or cold drink and some biscuits.
Use this time to quietly reflect upon the session and ask any questions you may have.
During or after a sound bath many people claim to experience complete calmness, elimination of mind chatter, floating sensations, no concept of time or space, pure relaxation and sometimes emotional release. It is normal to shed a tear so don't feel like you have to hold you back, but just be aware of those around you. Some people may fall asleep (if anyone snores I will gently wake you up so not to disturb other attendees)
Who may not be suitable to experience a soundbath?
If you have epilepsy or other seizures isn't advised to attend as sometimes seizures can be triggered by some of the instruments I will be using.
If you are in the 1st trimester of pregnancy it isn't advised to attend.
If you have a pace maker or heart condition, or suffer with a diagnosed metal health disorder it is advised you seek professional medical advise before booking a space. If attending you may wish to bring a chaperone.
If you suffer with tinnitus some people find sound bath therapeutic whereas others don't. It is at your discretion whether to proceed booking a space. I would personally recommend a one to one session which maybe more suitable as I can alter my soundscape to fit your needs.
Anyone arriving under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted to enter.
Children age 13-16 may attend providing they are able to remain still and quiet for the session and must be chaperoned by a parent whom will take full responsibility for them.
Any person of age 16+ must have provided parental consent to attend prior to arriving.
Adult age is considered 18+
Strictly no smoking anywhere on the premises.
Aftercare advice....
The effects of any sound bath may be felt for days afterwards. The least you will feel will be a sense of calmness but some people may feel flu like symptoms. This is due to the release of any toxins. It is recommended to increse the intake of water for the next 24 hours to encourage the flushing out of such toxins. Avoiding any strenuous activities immediately after is also advised as is avoidance of alcohol immediately after a soundbath.
Emotions may fluctuate as stagnant energy may have been moved and the brain has had the capability to process these releases.
If you have any concerns prior to or following a sound bath it is advised to contact your medical health professional.
If you wish to ask any questions before booking please message or call on 07817520251 or you can find me on Facebook....
