This 75-minute class begins with a 45-minute Restorative Yoga class and finishes with 30-min of guided meditation and sound bath healing.The sound bath includes crystal singing bowls, Tibetan bowls, chimes, an ocean drum, tuning fork and rain stick. Sound baths are therapeutic meditations using sound vibrations to reduce stress, improve sleep, lower blood pressure, & calm the nervous system. Calming the nervous system improves immune system health, hormone balance and metabolism, & creates inner emotional peace. The vibrational sounds allow the brainwaves to go from a Gamma and/or Beta state to Alpha or Theta state.
Restorative class uses fewer poses held gently for longer periods of time to help the body relax and the mind to calm and center. Props including bolsters and blocks are used to help the body rest. We recommend wearing comfortable layers for this class. Class is held at a comfortable room temperature (about 76 degrees); we suggest wearing layers as the body cools during rest.
