About this Event

Sound Bath for Restful Rejuvenation with Andrea Williams

Experience the transformative power of a sound bath in the marvelous acoustics and stained glass windows of Mt. Ida Preservation Hall that creates a deeply soothing and restorative environment. Sound bath sessions can help provide relaxation for anxiety and depression, and it can work through any feelings of grief non-verbally. You will be instructed at the beginning on how you can use your breath to help guide your individual experience.

Instruments used are: Gong, crystal singing bowls, metal singing bowls, chimes, shruti box, and voice. Please bring yoga mats, blankets and anything that you would like for comfort such as a pillow. Also, you can bring a journal and pen to write things down if you like. Andrea will sometimes move around the resonant acoustic space with her instruments so you will have a sonic experience no matter where you sit or lie down. It is first come first serve for seating. Please arrive 10 minutes before 7pm to get settled and comfortable.

Andrea Williams, a certified sound healing practitioner and deep listening coach, has been creating comfortable and compassionate spaces for restoration, creativity, and healing for communities for the last 20 years through various modalities including yoga, immersive soundscapes, and soundwalks that encourage listening to the world around us and internally to ourselves. She has performed at yoga studios, galleries, and museums worldwide. She obtained her PhD in Electronic Arts at RPI, where she co-taught Deep Listening with Pauline Oliveros. Her sound healing practice, Resonant Beings, was founded in 2018, and it includes 1:1 sessions and sound bath events that focus on providing a safe space for deeply restful rejuvenation and a re-tuning of our bodies. www.resonant-beings.com
