WHO ARE THE ARTSISTS?

Thelonious @thesou1ion

Thelonious Lee Dexter is a multidimensional artist, musician , performer and co-creator born and raised on the unceded ancestral territories of the Musqueum, Tsleil-Waututh and Squamish people, colonially known as Vancouver. Coming from a mixed diasporic family heritage (Korean + Celtic / British) as well as an embodied connection to the lands we are presently on, Thelo often plays between the cracks of ancestral identity and belonging amidst the fringe of post-modernity and ongoing cosmic revolution. Thelonious is a lover of the weird and wild, the mythic and whimsical, and their work aims to explore the natural and spiritual realms that intervene in and between the experiences of being human. Thelo is one part of psychedelic hiphop crew ‘Off Topic’ (@offtopicmusic) as “TK thesoulion”and ‘earthen bodies’ creative collective with their partner Alyssa Amarshi . They love to sing, play guitar , drums , bass and enjoy making beats and loops as a way to connect to the world through sonic expression

Garbielle Alola @gabe_does_music

Gabriel is a Filipino-Canadian Pianist and self-taught Saxophonist from Coquitlam, British Columbia. At the age of 14, Gabriel picked up the saxophone as a requirement for his high school Jazz Band, only to improve very quickly and perform at his first show after just 1 month of playing. Since 2017, he had the opportunity to be a part of the band for New Westminster singer-songwriter, Quinn Pickering, performing at various venues until 2019. He has also performed with YouTuber Alex Villoria, and Coquitlam singer-songwriter, Bukola Balogun. Gabriel is now an accomplished musician, having won titles from Close Look Got Talent, as well as Youth Talent Search BC, and is continuing to perform in the lower mainland as a saxophonist.

Alexia Acuña @alexia.acunaa

Alexia is an interdisciplinary artist; music, is her main outlet to how she processes life and all the various emotions that come with the human experience. Their intention is to share their art and gratitudes in hopes to reach out to people that resonate and connect with it. Music has always inspired and helped me move through, more specifically, difficult situations whether it be listening or creating, and she hopes, through her music, that she can extend that kind of support or to maybe just make someone feel heard.
