DJ Mr. A is back to host ‘Soul Train’ here at Haverhub!Expect an evening of funk, soul and beyond from his box of 45’s and 33’s.
It’s a simple formula. He spins the vinyl, and you make the moves – encouraged by Mr. W’s special visuals… (a dancing compilation plucked out of old videos, cartoons, films and elsewhere, from bell-bottom flares and crazy afros to dancing dinosaurs!...)
No MP3s, no CDs, just Vinyl from the likes of Curtis Mayfield, Lee Dorsey, Ann Peebles, Stevie Wonder, Temptations, James Brown, Aretha, Fatback Band, Smoove and Turrell, and more…
Music you can groove to – mostly from the 60’s and 70’s – the heyday of Detroit Soul, New Orleans Funk, West coast Wah-wah and Philly Disco, mixed in with some of today’s modern masterpieces.
Mr. A has been amassing and playing records for over 30 years, most recently at ‘Move On Up’ in Cardigan and ‘Soul Train’ St Davids.
No mixing, no scratching, no overdubs. Just great tunes to get you on the dancefloor.
