'Soul Survival' is a series of music events lovingly curated by Fealofani Elisara.Although she is best known for her creations as a jewellery designer, music has always been the driving force behind her life and work.
Her earlier years as a hip hop musician spawned a passion where her sole intention with these events is to create a space for us to have genuine connection in our community.
Ego is checked at the door, (where creatives aren't put on a pedestal), but instead honoured and celebrated because they genuinely love sharing their stories through art & music.
To celebrate Episode #2 of her SOUL SURVIVAL series, she is SUPER excited to showcase the beautiful music of DOJO CUTS for 'Block Party' Queens Edition!
Sarsha Simone (Dojo Cuts) will have us swaying to her sultry voice and gorgeous melodies accompanied by her ten piece band.
Throughout the day, Fealofani has chosen a tapestry of music that will be spun purely on VINYL by a badass ....ALL FEMALE D.J lineup.
We have Latin and soul grooves by DJ FOXY FUZZ, gorgeous Afro Brasilian, electronica and global sounds of DJ LU FARIA and.... finally we shall dance along to soul, hip hop and funk with the incomparable D.J JOSIE STYLES where she will spin her box of favourite 45's!
Our special BLOCK PARTY, will be hosted by FRESH ...a highly respected screen printing company in Marrickville.
We love this crew because they carry their spirit of community in everything they do!
We will activate their laneway where FRESH will also be doing 'live' prints of limited edition merch exclusive on the day!
Come RAIN OR SHINE.... we are excited to make this an all age event, where you can enjoy yummy pizza by The Italian Guy, drinks from distilleries & breweries in Marrickville along with non alcoholic options on the day.
