💥Take a deep journey on the dancefloor, bringing Body, Heart and Mind together as a way to awaken Soulful consciousness.

Dancing brings us into Body: this physicality is our living vessel for everything.
Moving in the landscapes of the Heart, we can feel more and metabolise our emotions – freeing up the energy that lives inside them. Exploring Mind as a embodied phenomenon brings us into creative and conscious relationship with what is real.
Gabrielle Roth defined the Soul as the alignment (or integration) of Body, Heart and Mind together. Movement enables this possibility and liberates us to become more of who we are. Coming to dance and do this freedom work together has its own particular potency.

✨What is an Immersion?
Immersions are a way to dive deep into the dance. They give time for experiential study of movement as meditation practice. They give space to the natural, healing and creative process that unfolds on the dancefloor. And they ignite the possibility of surrendering to the ecstatic experience that is dancing for long periods of time!
We will work and play with the core movement maps of The Way of the Dancer, Christian’s fusionary approach to the dancefloor, which integrates 5Rhythms and Movement Medicine with Taoist practice, Animist perspectives and other embodied pathways.
We dance solo, we move with others and we explore as a group.
We gather with a basis of respect and celebration of all bodies, expressions and ways of moving.
We use these protocols as a foundation for a strong, safe container.
The journey will include an invitation to prepare before the workshop, and resources to support you to integrate the experience into everyday life.
All bodies welcome.
This workshop will be taught in English. Translation to Portuguese can be given if needed.
📍Our dance space will be the beautiful studio at Escola Medicina Tradicional Chinesa, in Estefânia, Lisbon. It is big and has gorgeous windows, surrounded by a beautiful garden, right in the center of Lisbon.
On Friday night, we will be dancing at Feel2be, in Lumiar.

✦ About the FACILITATOR ✦
Christian de Sousa is a movement facilitator, DJ and artist.
He has held space for thousands of people to go on transformative journeys through dance.
Creator of the legendary 5Rhythms dance space Sweaty Thursdays in south London, he initiated and led the seminal dancingTao and Earthdreamers projects. Working with Movement Medicine from its inception, he was an MM Pathfinder & faculty teacher.
Having trained with Gabrielle Roth and Ya’Acov & Susannah Darling Kahn, he was also mentored by Malidoma Somé and Jean-Claude Audergon and has studied in-depth with Suprapto Suryodarmo.
Born in Switzerland of mixed European ancestry, he grew up in England and developed his practice in London and other cities. He lives in the south Devon hills with his family, and learns about enlightenment from the cats.
