We acknowledge that we stand, dance and love on the stolen and unceded Boodja (land) of the Whadjuk Noongar Bibbulmun people. We would like to take this opportunity to pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging and to all the First Nations peoples. We acknowledge tens of thousands of years of stories, traditions and living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on this land and commit to building a brighter future together. We extend solidarity and hope for a future where all are afforded justice, dignity, and peace, reflecting on centuries of resistance in the face of colonisation. This always was and always will be Aboriginal land.For the final celebration of Project 54, we have collaborated with Friends of Friends (FOF). FOF is a communal space where creativity is birthed to amplify freedom, care for Black women and liberate Black people’s creative expression. Below is their event statement:
Friends of Friends VOL2 will home a captivating blend of past, present and future. It is our intention that the domain we create will be a birthing place for creativity, so we encourage our guests to participate by being free to express their fashion in a way that is liberating.
We encourage an expressive dress code to portray clothing from all eras; esoteric or chic, from the 70s to Matrix inspired outfits.
We will host a diverse range of BIPOC lineup of artists that will gift us with timeless music, poetry and dj set to celebrate the end of Project 54.

Whilst we have lift access, the doorway is currently only 68.5cm wide, the inside 115cm deep and 98cm wide. Our gallery doorways are 78cm wide.

Cool Change operates near Kuraree, once a meeting place for Whadjuk Noongar Bibbulmun moort (family), brought together by ke-ning (corroboree) to share kaartdijin (knowledge).
We acknowledge that this is and always will be Aboriginal land, and that our capacity to engage in creative practice on this boodja is informed by the knowledge and labour of First Nations People.
