About this Event
Since 2016, Project Giving Kids has been providing unique opportunities every fall for youth to Create the Change® in their communities. Special sessions for PGK youth/families are being held throughout Create the Change® Week 2022 taking place November 13-19. Join our partner Path LA to sort food donations and package food for Thanksgiving distribution. There will also be a chance to create some thoughtful notes/cards (or bring some you've already made with you!) to go with gift cards that will be included in the Thanksgiving baskets.
FAQsIs there a minimum age requirement?
Parents can decide if they feel their child is old enough for the responsibilities required for this activity, but everyone under 16 MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian. PGK requires a waiver as a part of this registration process which must be signed off on by a parent or guardian for those under age 18. PATH also requires a facility waiver in advance, which will be sent after registration and before the event.
Are there any other requirements?
Vaccination is required for those 12 and up, and masks are required when in the indoor conference room. By registering, you acknowledge you are fully vaccinated (if over age 12). You may be asked for proof of vaccination, so please bring it with you in case it is needed.
Do I need a ticket to enter the event and is there a limit on attendance?
Yes. All participants need to have an individual ticket, AND SPACE IS LIMITED TO 20 (TWENTY) FOR THIS EVENT. Please only secure a ticket if you are 100% committed to coming. That said, we know that plans change, so if yours do, please cancel your ticket through Eventbrite (or email us at [email protected]) at least 3 days in advance, if possible, so we can give someone else the chance to get involved!
Do I need to print my ticket(s) in advance?
No. Simply have your auto-generated tickets ready on your phone at check-in.
What are my parking options at the event?
Free street parking is available on Madison Ave. and Oakwood Ave. Volunteers may also park in any available spots in PATH's covered parking lot in front of the building on Madison.
What can I bring to the event?
$25 grocery gift cards to help cover the cost of the turkeys for families are encouraged and appreciated!
