Sororii is a female-led band featuring Afro-Colombian cellist Carolina Borja, and bassoonist Arleigh Savage. Sororii formed in 2021 during the height of the pandemic and with the spirit to reclaim sisterhood and explore feminine voices across cultures. Their music blends warm, melodic bassoon lines, plucked and strummed cello, and voice; creating instrumental grooves with underlying world, latin, and afro beats.
Their first major project, Esperanza: a cross- cultural collaboration is NOW AVAILABLE in Bandcamp. They intend this work to be a body of work that models new leadership for this turbulent times of societal fragmentation. The spirit of the album evocates ancestry, female voices, and music expressions from around the world.
