Simone is a graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium and the Juilliard School in New York. She was a winner of the Opera Foundation of Australia's national voice competition which supported her subsequent study at the Juilliard School. Simone was third prizewinner of the International Robert Schumann Competition in Zwickau.
Thomas Victor Johnson is a vocal coach and pianist living on the unceded lands of the Gadigal people, where he works as a repetiteur with Opera Australia and a vocal coach at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
