For all St. John’s women who would like to join us, Sophia Sisters will meet on Saturday, Dec. 13, 10 a.m. in the Parish Hall. We will continue our discussion of Rachel Held Evans’ book, A Year of Biblical Womanhood, focusing this month on the chapter, “December: Obedience.” December’s co-leaders are Ann Wieser and Helen Holt.
Neither having the book nor reading the chapter is required, though both are helpful. Mainly, just come with an open mind and heart: Evans offers a healthy dose of humor, compassion, and practicality as she explores some of the Bible’s darkest and most troubling stories involving women, a subject that, sadly, continues to trouble.
