SONIC SOUL
A blues experience like no other, Sonic Soul is an avant-garde blues band that honors the legacy of the genre while crafting a sound uniquely their own. If you’ve experienced a Sonic Soul show, you already know their magic lies in reimagining classics by The Rolling Stones or David Bowie with their own creative spin. One moment, they’ll rock you with Santana, blow your mind with Hendrix, Cream, or Jeff Beck, and the next, have you on your feet dancing to their own house-rockin’ originals. Whether you’re kicking back and enjoying the vibe or shaking it all night on the dance floor, Sonic Soul serves up a funky, bluesy, rockin’ gumbo guaranteed to be nothing but a good time!
At the helm of Sonic Soul is guitarist, singer, and songwriter, John Bruhnke, whose dedication to his craft is evident in every note. John’s growth as a musician has been guided by none other than the legendary Robben Ford, ranked among the greatest guitarists of all time and celebrated for his work with jazz icon Miles Davis and his illustrious solo career. After years of study, Robben not only recognized John’s talent but also became a mentor and supporter, sharing these words:
"Make sure to catch Sonic Soul at the Venue on Friday, January 3rd. The band is fronted by my good friend and student, John Bruhnke, who has assimilated everything I’ve thrown at him and still has his own thing! Wish I could be there!" – Robben Ford

John Bruhnke surrounds himself with musicians as passionate about creating music in the moment as he is. Sonic Soul features an all-star lineup:
~ E.G. McDaniel on bass, featured on over 50 Delmark blues records and nephew of the legendary Bo Diddley.
~ Brady Williams on drums, a revered Chicago musician who has worked with icons like Koko Taylor, Eddy Clearwater, Carlos Johnson, Sugar Blue, and Junior Wells.
~ Tony Lorens on piano, who toured and recorded with blues giants Albert King and Stevie Ray Vaughan. (Yes, that’s Tony in the famous studio video of Albert and Stevie!)

Join Sonic Soul for a night of incredible music, dancing, and good vibes as they take the stage this last Friday of the holiday season. This is a celebration you won’t want to miss!
