About this Event
We all have fascinating stories to tell, and love listening to them! This workshop is an opportunity for everyone to learn how to create great audio pieces affordably. No previous knowledge is needed! Be it a podcast, documentary sound recordings, interviews, or radio dramas - Sound Narratives will give you all the tools you need to realize your ideas.
Students of this course can:
1) Learn about genres and styles of sonic narratives
2) Gain experience in recording and editing
3) Create their own pieces

Open to teens (15-19) and adults (20 and up) of all experience levels.
Schedule:
Class is scheduled for Wednesday evenings from 6:00pm-8:00pm for six weeks.
First day of class: Wednesday October 2nd
Last day of class: Wednesday November 6th
Materials (What to Bring) :
Notepad and pen
Recording device: (Option A) smartphone (with the spotify for podcasters app installed Apple / Android) ; (Option B) mobile recorder (example) ; (Option C) microphone + recording device of your choice
Headphones (any kind is good)
Charger (or batteries) for recording devices
About the Teaching Artist:
Robert Stokowy is an artist, educator, and artistic researcher born and raised in Cologne, Germany. His work combines sound with interdisciplinary practices such as writing, photography, printmaking, videography. After earning a M.A. in Sound Studies, Robert has had exhibitions, installations, tours, and performances internationally.
