Dr. Jamey Shannon will share some information regarding registering your original songs with a PRO (Performing Rights Organization), such as BMI, ASCAP, SECAC, etc. Doing so allows you to collect the monies owed to you when you perform your songs, or someone else performs your songs. It also gets you registered as a songwriter which has many benefits. If time allows we will share some information regarding MLC, (Mechanical Licensing Collective) which is connected to your original song streaming.
Following the presentation, we will have group discussion and opportunities to perform your original songs for the group. Performance is not required, but encouraged!
