Gut Puppy is the NYC based alt-folk duo project of Nancy McArthur and Oli D Remembers. The two began collaborating after co-starring in punk and folk musicals in the local experimental theater scene. They’re known for their wry humor and exquisite vocal harmonies.
Prior to forming Gut Puppy, both musicians wrote and produced albums as solo acts. A blend of indie-folk and melancholy, Nancy McArthur’s songs are meditative and heartsearching, with a generous dose of sarcasm. She is a member of the Astoria Music Collective in Queens and has graced the stages of famed NYC venues like The Scratcher, Pete’s Candy Store, and Rockwood Music Hall. Her debut album I Would I Were Thy Bird was released in December of 2023, with a sold-out show at Brooklyn Music Kitchen.
Oli D Remembers is the alternative folk-rock project of Brooklyn based artist Oliver Demers. They have played in over 30 cities across the USA in storied venues such as NYC’s Purgatory, LA’s Permanent Records Roadhouse, and The Mudlark Theatre in New Orleans. They released their debut album “Scruples” in 2021, and are set to release two more in the fall of this year.
Joining Gut Puppy on the night will be `Cork musicians Fionn Heffernon (Moldboy) and Stephane Petiet. This event is curated by Peter O'Sullivan.
