Songwriter Sanctuary May 2024

A (mostly) monthly concert series featuring San Diego's finest songwriters. Three acts perform in a Nashville-style round sharing the stories and inspirations behind their beautiful songs. Hosted by the legendary Jeff Berkley.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
Lauren Leigh & Will Stucky decided to make their bed with song. Could it get messy? Sure, but that's nothing a little loving effort can't fix, right?

Ashley is the fearless leader of Americana all female San Diego Music Awards nominated band, Lady Psychiatrist’s Booth, host of female songwriter celebrated show Songbirds and solo artist. Beginning her long career in the Arizona music scene with her folk-rock band Delcoa, Ashley moved to Nashville in 2010 to pursue her love for Country music. There she hosted many successful songwriter nights, wrote hundreds of songs and worked with some of Nashville’s finest musicians and producers, including Johnny Garcia, lead guitar player for Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood.

Hugo Anché is a singer, songwriter, pianist, bandleader, and arranger who plays all over San Diego. He also has his own latin, funk, and soul; jazz fusion band, Piloncillo, who also plays around San Diego. Anché's songwriting incorporates elements of music from around the world including; Brazil bossa nova, Mexican boleros, Cuban son and montunos,  U.S. jazz, funk, and many others. Anché is set to release his first original music and arrangements album this year.

Time: Doors 6:30pm, Show 7pm
Suggested Donation: $10 (all ages) but please be generous in your support of these top tier talents whose creative work is their livelihood. All donations go to artists. We want you to come to the show regardless of what you can afford to pay! For this reason, you may bring up to 10 people per donation, no matter the amount you give.

Food/Drink: Concession snacks and beverages (with and without) are available for small purchase, thanks to our partners Normal Heights United and our sponsors at Duck Foot Brewing Company and Flying Embers. Attendees are welcome to bring their own food into the sanctuary - we recommend grabbing takeout from one of the many amazing restaurants on Adams Ave! (Please respect the space and dispose of all waste/recycling upon conclusion of the concert).
