This unique performance blends the recitation of Kabir`s verses, sung in their original languages, accompanied by the traditional tambura instrument, and intertwined with reflective storytelling about Kabir’s life and philosophy. Shabnam will also engage the audience in a thought-provoking discussion on the continued relevance of Kabir’s teachings in today`s world. About Shabnam Virmani The Kabir Project, led by filmmaker and artist Shabnam Virmani since 2002, explores the wisdom of mystic poets like Kabir and Shah Latif through their oral folk traditions. Her work has spanned 4 documentary films, a digital archive called Ajab Shahar, urban festivals, rural yatras, and extensive performances. Currently, Shabnam is developing a school program, Shabad Shaala, bringing mystic poetry into classrooms. Her notable works include the award-winning film Kabira Khada Bazaar Mein and two books, I Saw Myself and Burn Down Your House. Join her for an evening of profound spiritual exploration and music.
