This November, Slavyanka Chorus is inviting you on a musical journey to a world of choral music almost completely unknown to most Americans – a concert featuring a rich potpourri of folk songs and sacred hymns by renowned women composers from:* Russia (Sister Iuliania / Irina Denisova)
* Ukraine (Iryna Aleksïychuk)
* Serbia (Dragana Veličković; Ljubica Marić)
* Bulgaria (Dobrinka Tabakova)
* The US (Anne Schoepp; Alice Hughes; Maia Aprahamian)**
Songs of faith, songs of love and its burdens, and songs of just pure fun – ranging from Orthodox chants to soul-stirring Slavic folk songs.
Joining Slavyanka Chorus in these concerts…
• On Saturday, November 9th:*** ISKRA ETNO – a vocal group dedicated to sharing Slavic and Balkan music, traditions, and language.
• On Sunday, November 10th: The Choir and Children’s Choir of St. Lawrence Orthodox Church in Felton, CA.
