We’re inviting you into a small, intimate garden concert to welcome our Red Lounge Sessions back - an afternoon created straight from the heart. This gathering is a fundraiser for our dear friend Farley, who lives in Byron Bay and has recently undergone surgeries to remove a brain tumour. With ongoing treatment ahead, this is our way of wrapping her in community, music and support - the Red Lounge way.
A beautiful lineup of friends has stepped forward to perform purely for the love, with 100% of ticket sales going directly to Farley’s cause.
Leading the afternoon are Phil & Tilley. Farley’s partner Phil is a wonderful human I met years ago when he performed at one of my Red Lounge Sessions back in my Mount days. Originally from England and now based in Byron Bay, Phil and Tilley are crossing the ditch to Aotearoa to help raise funds and share their music.
Phil & Tilley began writing together in the autumn of 2012, surrounded by the ancient woodland of the New Forest on England’s southern coast. Lifelong friends, their sound blends alternative acoustic and folk, drawing influence from artists such as Xavier Rudd, Ben Harper and John Martyn, while remaining unmistakably their own. With slide guitar, traditional acoustic guitar and a distinctive fold-up upright bass built for life on the road, they create rich, earthy soundscapes shaped by years of travel and live performance across Australia, New Zealand, Europe and South East Asia.
Joining them are local poets Meesha Hardman and John Baxter, bringing spoken-word stories and tales, alongside the incredible multi-instrumentalist Camila Lenhart, plus a special guest to be announced.
This will be an afternoon of connection, generosity and music that lingers long after the last note fades.
For anyone who’d like to learn more about Farley’s journey or support her, a GoFundMe page has been set up here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/cycling-for-brain-cancer
Sorry but no children or pets as it's a small space and not set up for either so book the babysitter and come relax for the afternoon.
