Experience great songs in their most intimate and natural setting at the Song Dog music series! In May my guests are super pickers Rob Ickes and Trey Hensley! We had them scheduled for last October and they had to cancel because of illness but they are BACK baby. Both have won the IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Association) picker of the year in their instrument categories (guitar for Trey and dobro for Rob) and collaborated and played with legendary artists like Vince Gill, Taj Mahal, Johnny Cash, and Merle Haggard. Prepare to surf all night on a river of effortless picking and smooth baritone vocals. I can’t wait for this one!
The Song Dog concert series happens every first Tuesday of the month in the Augustus (music venue attached to the Local Yocal BBQ and Grill) in McKinney. Past guests include Tracy Byrd, Radney Foster, Deryl Dodd, Cleto Cordero of Flatland Cavalry, Stoney Larue, Mike Ryan, and many more. Get the best seats by reserving in advance, especially because some shows do sell out.
Doors open at 6 PM
Ticket price for the first three rows includes a meal at 6:15 which you can eat at your seat.
Music begins at 7 PM
Show is generally over by 9 PM
