Let’s give the returning sun a warm welcome in song, as we raise and weave our voices together in harmony in this two-hour informal workshop / community song circle. All voices are welcome regardless of experience. All songs are taught in the oral tradition by call and response, without sheet music (although some lyrics are provided). Some songs have 3 or 4 harmony parts, and some have a simple structure with room for harmonies to arise organically. There are no “wrong notes” and our aim is joy and connection, not perfection.
Creativity and movement are encouraged and chairs are optional.
Learn uplifting songs celebrating the returning light, by songwriters in the community singing movement (e.g. Coco Love Alcorn, Lea Morris), and one by the Beatles: “Here Comes The Sun”. The workshop is two hours, with a break for ginger tea; connect with others who love to sing!
To provide access to folks with diverse background and economic access, admission is on a sliding scale: $15 - 30: please choose what feels both affordable and generous for you.

Walk-ins are welcome. Join us and experience the magic of community singing, in harmony, imperfectly.
About the facilitator:
Sylvia Humble is a community songleader devoted to reviving our tribal roots of singing together for joy, connection and healing. After leaving her government job to follow her calling, she founded Humble Harmony in 2021 — a welcoming, non-performing community group where she teaches uplifting songs and harmonies by ear in the oral tradition, weaving in creativity and movement. Sylvia also hosts community singing events and workshops, and has become known for her joyful and skilled leadership, creating warm, accessible spaces where people rediscover the magic of shared harmony. Sylvia is a graduate of Community Choir Leadership Training and a member of the Ubuntu Choirs Network which shares the belief that singing together is a universal human birthright and can change the world
