Sonar Sessions is a monthly Sunday evening event, showcasing artists in the genres of world, jazz, soul, acoustic & folk. Each Sonar Session will present a carefully curated lineup of live acts showcasing established artists alongside emerging local talent.Hugh Nankivell and Graham Browning have worked and played together for over 20 years and became Fowl during lockdown in 2020 when they made the Album Humankindweed, which was very well received with plays on local and national radio including Stuart Maconie’s Freakzone on 6music. More recording and many gigs around the country have followed, including Fire in the Mountain Festival 2025. They also make an occasional podcast - or Fowlpod as they like to say - that you can find on Bandcamp. Fowl’s song have been described as poignant, potent, avian, joyful, sad, serious and silly, often all at the same time. Ducks, geese, pigeons, weeds, cheese, gas and parrots will be on the menu.
In amongst the clouds is Oli Craig who brings short, lyrically ambitious, always direct and often whimsical songs with the ultimate goal of making you smile or shed a cathartic tear.
