Sonar was created for people longing to dance on proper contemporary, innovative dance music from all over this planet of music. It starts at 9 (for those who need their sleep but still want to go wild) but continue until all dancers are satisfied. Do come early though, since the capacity of the venue is limited.
The music is diverse. The core is afro/latin rhythms, but it moves across Eastern Europe over the Middle East and via South-America back to the very root of dance music: Africa – where still the latest evolutions of rhythm music find their origin.
You may call it electrocumbia, afrotrap, hiphop Cubano, arabtech, afrohouse, balkan bass, salsagrooves, dembow, dancehall, kuduro or any other afrobeat, but it may be wiser to listen to one of the playlists below and try not to dance.

Sonar is de feesthemel op muziekaarde voor wie zoekt en verlangt naar dansen op hedendaagse, innovatieve dansmuziek met ritmes uit alle hoeken van deze planeet. Deze editie start om 21u (voor wie vermoeidheidsgrenzen even belangrijk vindt als grenzeloos uit gaan), maar stopt niet voor alle dansers moe en voldaan zijn. Kom best vroeg, want de capaciteit is beperkt. De muziek ademt diversiteit. De kern is afro/latijns, maar de ritmes gaan van Oost-Europa over het Midden-Oosten en via Zuid-Amerika terug naar de oerbron van dansmuziek: Afrika – waar nu nog altijd de nieuwste evoluties van ritmemuziek vandaan komen.
Geef het kind gerust een naam – electrocumbia, afrotrap, Cubaanse hiphop, arabtech, afrohouse, balkan bass, salsagrooves, dembow, dancehall, kuduro of om het even welke andere afrobeat – maar luister vooral vooraf naar een playlist (en probeer niet te dansen).
