Sonar took a long pause after covid, and the restart was refreshing. For those who were there, whirling and floating on the dancefloor with big smiles on their faces, we couldn't but set up this 2nd edition. Sonar was created for people longing to dance on proper contemporary, innovative dance music from all over this planet of music. We scale it down to its pure simple essence: a 5 hour long dj-set at a beautiful, intimate location.The music is diverse. The core is afro/latin rhythms, but it moves across Eastern Europe over the Middle East and via South-America back to the very root of dance music: Africa – where still the latest evolutions of rhythm music find their origin.
You may call it electrocumbia, afrotrap, hiphop Cubano, arabtech, afrohouse, balkan bass, salsagrooves, dembow, dancehall, kuduro or any other afrobeat, but it may be wiser to listen and try not to dance.
