About Son Of A Sailor Fest
Son Of A Sailor Fest – or S.O.S. Fest – is a celebration of Jimmy Buffett and Gulf Coast culture in his waterfront hometown of Mobile, Alabama along the Gulf of Mexico. This family-friendly street festival features a rollicking second line parade through downtown, parrot-head costume contests, and musical acts inspired by Jimmy Buffett and the area’s unique and colorful coastal culture including A1A – The Official Jimmy Buffett Tribute Show and Will Kimbrough, honorary Coral Reefer and co-writer of Bubbles Up!

A1A – The Official Jimmy Buffett Tribute Show will drop anchor at S.O.S. Fest and put on a show of Cat-5 proportions. This premiere band (plus a couple of pirates for good measure) will bring your favorite Buffett tunes to life through a squall of fun and high energy entertainment. Not only has A1A been officially endorsed by Jimmy himself, but they have even filled in for the Coral Reefer band. Need we say more?
Will Kimbrough, honorary Coral Reefer and songwriting collaborator with Jimmy Buffett, including “Bubbles Up”, will bring a mix of music and never before heard tales of his time with Buffett to the stage! In addition to collaborating with artists such as John Prine, Emmylou Harris, Little Feat, and Mavis Staples, Kimbrough is a renowned and praised musician in his own right. With experiences writing with Buffett and performing in-studio and on-stage with the Coral Reefers under his belt, you do not want to miss this unique opportunity for incredible music and tales from his time with Jimmy!
