HOPEFUL AFTER DARK
SOMETHING ROTTEN
THE HOPEFUL THEATRE PROJECT
“Set in the 1590s, brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom are desperate to write a hit play but are stuck in the shadow of that Renaissance rock star known as "The Bard." When a local soothsayer foretells that the future of theatre involves singing, dancing and acting at the same time, Nick and Nigel set out to write the world’s very first musical. But amidst the scandalous excitement of opening night, the Bottom Brothers realize that reaching the top means being true to thine own self, and all that jazz.” (MTI Shows)
Hopeful After Dark is The Hopeful Theatre Project’s special series of productions designed for adult audiences and performers, featuring bold, mature themes and content not typically seen in our main stage shows. These productions allow our artists to explore edgier material while giving our audience a unique, immersive theatre experience. Beyond the stage, Hopeful After Dark is part of our mission-driven work: proceeds from this series of productions go directly toward The Hopeful Theatre Project to help fund our main stage productions, through which we donate 75% of ticket revenue to causes in need. By participating, you’re helping create unforgettable theatre while making a meaningful future impact in the community.
