Weddings are tradition! Hearthside House Museum pays tribute to the wedding traditions of 150 years with a special exhibit covering the eras from 1850s to 2000. From wedding dresses to receptions photography to honeymoon destinations learn about the evolution that has taken place every decade in each of these areas. Displays include artifacts and dresses from each decade along with where traditions came from and many of the superstitions that were followed for many years with the hopes of insuring good luck for the couple.
The exhibit is set throughout two floors of this historic house with spring flowers adorning each room as an ideal backdrop for the displays as wedding music plays in the background. Docents dressed in period attire will host each room as visitors take a self-guided tour through 10 rooms.
Reservations and tickets available at hearthsidehouse.org or at the door. Staggered admissions starting at 1:00 and every 15 min. with the last entry at 3:00 pm.
