Join us for an afternoon of evocative music as we explore Ralph Vaughan Williams' timeless Songs of Travel. This selection of pieces will take you on a journey through themes of freedom, beauty, and introspection. One of his notable works is Fantasia on Christmas Carols, which featured Jeronimo as the soloist during our recent Christmas Sunday service, accompanied by the church choir.

Jeronimo Thomas
Jeronimo is a versatile musician, artistic director, and classically trained vocalist, serving as music director of his band and section leader in his church's choir, where he recently performed as soloist during their Christmas Sunday service. He's behind the music on his EP "Jermaine" and full-length album "11:11", with new music on the horizon, including work on a musical based on his life. A curator and producer with experience recruiting artists, booking shows, and writing music, Jeronimo was educated in Arizona and has been part of over 25 ensembles, leading various choirs and bands. Currently, he's on the hunt for new projects and collaborations, eager to blend his passion for music creation and performance with lother passionate creatives.

Nancy Otness Bent
Acclaimed pianist and accompanist Nancy Otness Bent has made significant contributions to Seattle's music community. With a 20-year tenure at Seattle Women’s Chorus, she showcased exceptional artistry and generosity, earning admiration from colleagues and audiences alike. Since joining the Seattle choruses in 1996, Nancy performed at numerous concerts and festivals, including the prestigious GALA Festival, leaving a lasting impact on the city's musical landscape. Now, Nancy's enjoying her newest role as grandmother to two, and is having the time of her life!

Ralph Vaughan Williams (1872-1958)
Born in Down Ampney, Gloucestershire, Ralph Vaughan Williams was a British composer, organist, and folk-song collector. He studied at the Royal College of Music and Cambridge University, developing a unique sound that blended English folk music with classical styles. Vaughan Williams was a key figure in the English musical renaissance of the early 20th century, composing works like The Lark Ascending and Fantasia on Christmas Carols. His music often explored themes of nature, spirituality, and the human experience. He was a prolific composer, leaving a lasting legacy in classical music.

Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894)
Scottish novelist, poet, and travel writer, best known for works like Treasure Island and The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. His writing often explored themes of adventure, morality, and the human condition. Stevenson's poetry and essays are celebrated for their lyricism and storytelling, with works like A Child's Garden of Verses showcasing his ability to craft timeless tales.
