About this Event
boundaries: one of the hardest damn things to figure out, right?
in this workshop, participants will learn a simple, practical, body-centred process for figuring out their boundaries, articulating those boundaries to those who need to know about them, and maintaining those boundaries. boundaries exist to structure our lives so that more of what we desire and need gets in, and more of what drains and hurts us stays out, and our bodies are a deep well of constantly up-to-date, accurate information about our needs, desires, and capacities. developing our skills around setting boundaries allows us to take better care of ourselves, have more mutually nurturing relationships, and navigate life’s up & downs more smoothly.

about your facilitator: hannah harris-sutro is a politicized somatics practitioner & facilitator. the seed of my work is an unshakable knowing that the wisdom of your body is your birthright, and that this wisdom is the heart of transformation & healing for personal & collective liberation. the primary lineages i study & practice within include somatic experiencing (SEP), generative somatics via vanissar tarakali, & biodynamic craniosacral therapy. my approach is grounded in mad pride/disability justice models, particularly peer education & support, harm reduction, and queer lineages of radical desire, consent & power. my training is lifelong & intentionally outside institutional/academic frameworks of social work, psychology, psychiatry, and policing. i am a white neurodivergent & mad settler, leatherdyke & parent, born & raised on kumeyaay territory, living in tiohtià:ke on unceded territory traditionally tended by the kanien'kehá:ka since 2006.
i have nearly 20 years of experience doing community support work, training, and facilitation. i’ve facilitated some style of trauma-informed, broadly accessible, fat-positive somatic practice for groups since 2011 & 1:1 sessions since 2014.
