COURSE SUMMARY:
This specialized training is designed for certified yoga teachers who want to integrate somatic movement into their existing classes or lead stand-alone somatic yoga offerings. The training emphasizes nervous system regulation, movement re-patterning, and teaching from an internal, felt sense rather than external alignment cues.
Through a combination of self-paced video modules and an immersive in-person day, you'll explore how to unwind chronic tension, improve proprioception and interoception, and guide your students into greater body awareness and ease.
KEY LEARNINGS:
-Understand the three stress reflexes that shape posture and pain
-Learn how to teach the seven foundational Cat Stretches
-Explore the difference between proprioception and interoception—and why it matters in teaching
-Sequence somatic yoga into Vinyasa, Yin, or as a stand-alone class
-Develop tools for nervous system regulation
-Practice slow, mindful movement designed to release subconscious tension patterns
TRAINING SCHEDULE:
Video Content (7 hours):
-Four weekly modules released in October
-Each includes educational content and a 1-hour guided somatic yoga practice
In-Person Day (October 26):
-8-hour day of movement labs, teaching methodology, group practice teaching, fascial tension patterns, and guided class
-Time: 10:30 AM – 6:30 PM (includes lunch break)
CEU CREDITS:
This training offers 15 Continuing Education Hours through Yoga Alliance. Participants will receive a certificate upon completion of all course components.
